How it works

Each tool — the Debt Action Plan, deadline planner, contact log, Bill Prioritiser and Find My Debts — saves what you enter in your own browser. My Debt File reads it all and shows it together. Nothing leaves your device unless you download it.

Taking it to an adviser

Free debt advisers will ask what you owe, to whom, what you earn and spend, and what letters you have had. The PDF puts all of that on a few pages, which can make the first appointment much quicker.

You can get free, impartial debt advice

You never have to pay for debt advice. MoneyHelper (government-backed), StepChange, National Debtline and Citizens Advice all give free, confidential advice with no obligation.
